Nikeel Idnani (CEng, FIMarEST, CMarEng, MBA) is a highly accomplished marine engineer with over 28 years of experience in the maritime industry. He holds an Advance Diploma in Marine Engineering and received the Royal Australian Navy Prize for his outstanding performance as a student in the Chief Engineer course at the Australian Maritime College. His 10-year experience onboard ships culminated as a Chief Engineer, which formed the foundation for his diverse shore-based management roles in the industry. Nikeel has made significant contributions to the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) UAE branch, serving as the Honorary Secretary since 2012. He plays a vital role in promoting activities between professional bodies, government, schools, and industries to establish the IMarEST UAE Branch as a benchmark for advanced marine education in the region. Nikeel persuades leading companies in maritime technology to share their expertise through sponsorship of technical meetings in Dubai, which he single-handedly organizes and comperes on a pro-bono basis. He is an active speaker in international shipping conferences and represents the Middle East at the IMarEST global Annual Conferences, exchanging best practices with a broad spectrum of global delegates.

Nikeel has successfully provided a platform for thought leaders to deliver insights on contemporary topics of marine engineering, science, and technology, including environment-related issues, in a conducive environment for learning and business networking. In 2020, 2021 & 2022 he hosted 17 seminars/webinars attended by 3672 maritime professionals. His contributions have garnered goodwill within the region, and he is widely recognized as a familiar face within Middle East maritime circles. Nikeel is a proponent of maritime professionals and recognizes the value of technology and processes that improve the efficiency of the maritime industry.
