Christian is a Partner and the Head of Shipping at ISOLAS LLP, the oldest and one of the largest and leading law firms in Gibraltar. He is acknowledged as one of the leading lawyers in Gibraltar in the fields of admiralty and shipping law.

He has been named as a Band 1 lawyer by Chambers and Partners and has been admitted to the Legal 500’s “Hall of Fame”. The Legal 500’s Hall of Fame highlights individuals who have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence and who are at the pinnacle of the profession and area of expertise. Christian has published numerous articles on ship arrests in Gibraltar and is the author of the Gibraltar chapter of the book “Ship Arrests in Practice”. He regularly speaks in international shipping conferences and is a regular speaker on ship arrests at the Lloyd’s Ship Arrest Seminar which is organised by the Lloyd’s Maritime Academy in partnership with Lloyd’s List.

Christian is involved in the majority of ship arrest cases in Gibraltar and has arrested more ships in Gibraltar in recent years than any other law firm. Among others he represents major Banks, P&I Clubs, bunker suppliers, charterers and ship owners. Christian was instructed by the Gibraltar Government following the detention of the Tanker Grace 1 on suspicion of violating European Union sanctions on oil shipments to Syria.
