Andrea Kocharyan is currently Vice President, Senior Counsel at Flagship Pioneering, supporting the needs of Flagship’s ever growing portfolio of bioplatform companies. Andrea’s experience in the pharmaceutical industry spans more than 20 years and includes work in legal and in scientific roles. Most recently, Andrea served as Vice President, Head of Legal and Chief Compliance Officer at Zealand Pharma US, Inc., a biotechnology company focused in metabolic and gastrointestinal diseases. Prior, she was the Head of Legal at Sumitomo Dannipon Pharma Oncology and US General Counsel at rEVO Biologics, and has held roles at Biogen, Ironwood, and Forum Pharmaceuticals. Andrea began her career as a scientist with roles at Genzyme and Biogen.  Andrea’s passion is helping young companies build not only their legal and compliance infrastructure, but also that culture, by engaging with stakeholders to form strong relationships and providing pragmatic, business focused advice.
