Francis X. Johnson is Senior Research Fellow and Climate/Policy Lead with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia Center. He holds a PhD in Energy and Climate Studies from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. He has over thirty years of experience on climate mitigation, energy access, biofuels, bioeconomy, and sustainable land/biomass use. He has been expert or advisor for FAO, UNEP, UNIDO, UNECA, UNCTAD, European Commission, SCOPE/UNESCO and the European Parliament Environment Committee. He was a Lead Author for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Land (2019) and member of the writing team for the IPCC-AR6 Synthesis Report (2023).
