Peter de Klerk joined the International Sugar Organisation as Senior Economist in January 2018. He arrived from Itochu Europe PLC where he was responsible for sugar market operations, ranging from analysis, logistics, futures market operations and commercial transactions. Prior to this, Peter worked in the analysis teams at Armajaro, Czarnikow and ED&F Man, covering a 12-year period. Peter holds a BSc in econometrics from the London School of Economics and an MSc in Economics from the University of York and is a part-qualified accountant.
