Prasert Tapaneeyangkul dedicated his entire 37-year career to various roles within the Thai Ministry of Industry. In his final three positions before retirement, he served as Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works, Inspector-General, and Secretary-General of the Cane and Sugar Board. His responsibilities included overseeing industrial pollution, hazardous substances and waste, factory safety, and risk management. In his last role, he managed all aspects of the cane and sugar industry under the Cane and Sugar Act of 1984, and chaired the Cane and Sugar Fund. He is an expert in laws related to the Factory Act, Hazardous Substance Act, Building Control Act, Environmental Law, Occupational Health and Safety Law, as well as Civil and Criminal Codes.
