Annemarie (Andy) van Duijn leads FMO’s Global Funds team, heading the Private Equity funds and co-investment business. She oversees a portfolio of more than EUR 1 billion across Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Asia, and is part of the Private Equity management team responsible for FMO’s EUR 3.4 billion equity strategy within its 2030 vision.
Since joining FMO in 2009, Annemarie has built a strong track record in emerging markets investing. She previously led the PE funds and corporates team for Asia and ECA and spent five years managing financial institution investments in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and India. In 2024, she spearheaded the reorganization of FMO’s private equity funds business into two focused teams—Global Funds and Fund Solutions—strengthening portfolio construction, liquidity solutions and strategic clarity.
Her career began in investment banking at ABN AMRO, followed by roles in M&A advisory and fundraising for start-ups. Before finance, Annemarie worked in public affairs and communications, giving her a unique perspective on stakeholder engagement. She holds an MSc in Finance and a BSc in Communication Science.
Annemarie is passionate about building high-performing teams and leading with clarity and courage to drive sustainable growth in emerging markets. Outside of work, she is a creative writer of poems and short stories—and a devoted fan of carrot cake.
