Dr Verhaeghe leads Anza Capital an early-stage Venture Capital firm based in South Africa and Kenya. Anza closed its first fund in 2024 and is raising Fund 2. She serves on various boards where innovation, tech start-up investment and entrepreneurship play an important role. She has co-founded the Research Institute for Innovation and Sustainability (RIIS), The SA Innovation Summit (SAIS) and ANZA Capital. She is an active angel investor. She spearheaded the commercialisation of the SA Innovation Summit as a Southern African Institution and an effective eco-system contributor for the region. Her vision is to raise multiple rounds of funds to impact the lives of 1 billion people over the next 15 years across Africa.
