Rockfeler P. Herisse, Ph.D. is the new Pretoria-based Investment and Innovation Advisor to expand partnerships and innovate private sector practices to accelerate a carbon-free future. He will serve as a local technical resource to develop investment mobilization and business models, encourage technological innovation, and increase Power Africa’s transaction pipelines throughout the continent. Prior to this assignment with Power Africa Coordinator’s Office, Rockfeler was the Energy Team Leader, for USAID/West Africa Regional, in the Regional Economic Growth Office. He was the Task Order Contracting Officer Representative (TOCOR) of the $54 million, 23-country West Africa Energy Program (WAEP). Dr. Herisse is a recognized thought leader on blended finance for renewable energy projects, managing regulatory agencies, Diaspora remittances, a certified Leadership and Life Coach.
Dr. Herisse received his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture (Agribusiness) from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. He earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in Agricultural Extension Education from the Pennsylvania State and Michigan State Universities respectively. He has earned an executive certificate from Harvard University in Public Policy and completed an 8-month Leadership Coaching executive certificate from Georgetown University.
