Els is a recognized leader and pioneer in the impact investing space. In 2021 she was named as one of the 50 women leading the sustainability in finance movement in The Netherlands by Dutch Magazine P+. In 2019 she received a Green Leader award from sustainability platform Change Inc.

Els joined Goodwell as a Managing Partner and co-owner in March 2008. She has led the firm’s launch in Africa and she is overseeing the group’s investment activities. Her thematic areas of expertise are financial inclusion and agriculture. Besides her work for Goodwell, Els serves as vice-chair of the Supervisory Board of the PharmAccess Foundation. Goodwell has been featuring consistently in the Impact Assets 50 global overview of experienced Investment Managers since 2018.
