Erik Sandersen

Executive Vice President - Financial Institutions at Norfund

Erik Sandersen is an EVP and member of the management team and investment committee of Norfund, the Norwegian DFI. He is responsible for Norfund’s investments in financial institutions across Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America. He is currently a board member of the South Africa-based bank investment firm Arise and of the microfinance investor Abler Nordic (formerly NMI), having previously been a member of the boards of several banks and microfinance institutions in Africa and Asia. Prior to joining Norfund in 2014, Mr. Sandersen worked 10 years as co-founder and partner in a venture capital firm in the Nordic region. He has also worked for the Boston Consulting Group in London and Oslo. Mr. Sandersen has a Master’s degree in Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and an MBA from Stanford University.
