Herman is founding and managing partner at EXEO Capital, a specialist investor in Africa’s agri-food systems with circ USD 300m AUM. He has co-led the firm’s investment teams in Nairobi and Cape Town through successive fund cycles involving capital raising, fund consolidation, and a total of 27 investment and divestment transactions. The firm has been investing for more than fifteen years for financial return and positive impact in partnership with both DFI and long-term private sector investors from Africa and Europe. EXEO invests across the agri-food value chains including agricultural inputs, food & beverage processing as well as supply chain logistics. Herman has personally led transactions in East and Southern Africa, including stand-alone investments as well as implementing platform strategies involving the consolidation of multiple investees. Herman also oversees the firm’s investment activities in private higher education in Africa.
