Hussein is the Founding Partner and CEO of Acre Impact Capital, a private-debt impact investment manager. Acre’s funds address the estimated $520 billion annual infrastructure financing gap in emerging economies, driving economic growth and providing essential services for underserved populations.
Working with Export Credit Agencies, Acre Impact Capital invests in climate-aligned infrastructure projects, while mobilising up to 5.6 dollars of private sector capital for every dollar invested. Acre Impact Capital is supported by The Rockefeller Foundation and the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), an innovative development finance organisation funded by the governments of the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Sweden, Germany and the IFC.
Prior to founding Acre Impact Capital, Hussein held executive roles in investment banking. He was notably Head of Strategy for BNP Paribas’ investment bank and responsible for driving the bank’s sustainable finance strategy. Prior to that, he started his career in Management Consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton, advising clients in financial services and in the public sector on their most complex strategic issues. Hussein lived in Paris, London and Johannesburg and advised clients across the African continent.
Hussein holds a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University. Hussein completed the Prince of Wales’s Business and Sustainability Programme at the University of Cambridge.
