Maarten is a Co-Head of Asset Management for ThirdWay Partners, an impact investment and advisory boutique. A key part of his responsibility includes leading the Africa Conservation & Communities Tourism Fund (the ACCT Fund), an initiative which aims to protect conservation areas, increase biodiversity, grow climate resilience and create livelihoods through the support of key safari tourism operators in sub-Saharan Africa. He started his career in investment banking in London and Hong Kong. Following his passion for wildlife and nature, Maarten relocated to East Africa, where he led corporate finance for one of the leading safari operators in the region. At the ACCT Fund, he continues to be able combine his dual interests in conservation and finance, however now sitting at the investment side. Maarten has an MSc from the London School of Economics.
