Martin Maina is the Corporate Venture Capital Practice Lead at EDGE by Dream VC, where he brings a wealth of experience in venture-building and corporate venture capital. With a strong foundation in technology innovation management and financial modelling built over the last 15 years, Martin has successfully led strategic investments and venture management across diverse industries, including fintech, media and entertainment, and supply chain, with a particular focus on the African market. He has directly managed over $30 Mn in off-balance sheet investments of corporate and institutional capital and secured additional growth funding from co-investors, including Google and the UK Government. Today, his firm advises over $ 75 million of corporate venture-backed funds. Additionally, Martin is also a founding member of the Nairobi Business Angels Network, which has grown to include over 100 active angels and has deployed over $1 million in 20⁺ early-stage scale-ups.
