Profile

Marvin Coleby is the Product Lead for Asia, Middle East, and Africa at Carta. Carta connects founders, investors, and limited partners through world-class software purpose-built for everyone in private markets—from cap table management and valuations for startups, to fund administration and portfolio analytics for GPs, to reporting and data rooms for LPs. Its fund administration platform supports over 8,500 funds and SPVs and represents over $182B in assets under administration, trusted by more than 50,000 companies across over 160 countries. Marvin's work focuses on integrating these products and scaling them across the world's fastest-growing markets.

Prior to Carta, Marvin founded Raise, which grew to become the largest cap table provider for VC-backed startups across Africa before he joined Carta to scale the international product organization. Before Raise, he helped build the global practice for Dentons' Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies group as a venture lawyer, and has since worked on regulatory policy across Africa and offshore financial centers for digital assets and capital markets.

Marvin's work sits at the intersection of capital markets infrastructure and building an ownership economy—integrating tools, policy, law, and investment structures into software at scale. He remains a builder, publishing software, tools, and products built entirely on AI and design rails for a variety of financial services and capital markets use cases. He advises multiple companies, governments, and venture studios on startup building and private markets development.
