Mika is a business operator turned investor and a fourth-generation Lebanese immigrant entrepreneur in West Africa. He began angel investing in African technology founders in 2014 and, five years ago, founded P1 Ventures. Today, P1 Ventures manages over $60 million and invests with the thesis that AI and blockchain will reshape core sectors of African economies, much as mobile technology and fintech transformed telecommunications and banking over the last decades. P1 Ventures has partnered early with inspiring companies such as Reliance in health (Nigeria), Nuitee in hospitality (Morocco), Mindjoy in education (South Africa) and Better Auth in authentication (Ethiopia). Mika was born in Dakar, Senegal, raised in Nouakchott, Mauritania, and holds an engineering degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Stanford.
