Portia Chitanda is the ESG and Impact Lead at Takura, which is a private equity firm that is based in Harare. Takura invests in competitively-positioned, scalable companies with clear and defendable core competencies in Zimbabwe and other Southern African Development Community countries, outside of South Africa.

Portia joined Takura in 2016 as Chief Finance Officer, before transitioning to her current role in 2022. Prior to Takura, she worked for over 15 years in various financial services roles, including Business Management with Deutsche Bank, Singapore, and Fund Administration in Grand Cayman Islands. Portia is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration from Oxford Brooks University. She is also a certified expert in ESG and Impact Investing (Frankfurt School of Finance and Management).
