Profile
Sara joined British International Investment in 2014 and leads the Private Equity Funds and Co-Investments team within the Industries, Technology and Services group. Sara is responsible for investing and managing BII’s portfolio of funds investing in private equity across sectors in Africa and Asia, as well as co-investments alongside these funds.
Prior to joining BII, Sara was a Principal at Quona Capital, a venture firm investing in financial technology for inclusion across Latin America, Africa and Asia. Sara has also worked for Zoona, a payments company in Zambia. Before this, Sara was a Director in the Financial Structuring Group at the Royal Bank of Scotland and practised law at Clifford Chance in London.
Sara holds a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, a Diploma in Law from the College of Law, a Masters in International Development from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales. Sara sits on several fund Advisory Boards and serves on the Limited Partner Committee of the African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (AVCA).
