Shiluba Mawela is a qualified chartered accountant and a notable figure in the African impact investing ecosystem. As the Founder and Managing Partner at Tshiamo Impact Partners, she leads a pioneering impact advisory and boutique asset management firm that focuses on driving gender lens investing. The firm actively manages allocations from two angel networks of 36 African women and is currently fundraising for a growth-stage Gender Lens Impact Fund.
In addition to her leadership at Tshiamo, Shiluba co-convenes the University of Cape Town’s esteemed Impact Investing in Africa executive course. She has also played a critical role as the Secretariat Co-Lead for the National Taskforce for Impact Investing, in collaboration with the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
With extensive experience in capital markets, Shiluba has worked at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Ernst & Young (Johannesburg and New York), and a boutique transaction advisory firm. She is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper Alumni, a Mandela Washington Fellow, and a 2023 Echoing Green Fellow.
Shiluba's governance roles include board positions at the Terrasan Group and Tshiamo Foundation. She previously served on the boards of the FirstRand Foundation and Mineworks Investment Company. Passionate about advancing impact investing, she contributes through thought leadership to various publications and serves on the Steering Committee for the Collaborative for Frontier Finance.
