Stephan has over 35 years’ experience researching and investing in private markets globally, as both a consultant and fund manager. He has advised pension plans on investments in African private markets for over 25 years and has supported investments in direct deals as well as funds. He has advised a range of institutional investors across asset classes, but now focuses on private markets. He has also advised African based for over 25 years.

Stephan built private markets research programmes in several groups and is currently CEO of Giants’ Shoulders Capital. He is s frequent speaker at conferences and has written multiple articles and papers. He currently advises over $3 bn of investments in private equity, infrastructure and debt for several different institutions and has deployed over $500m to Africa private markets.

Stephan is on the Advisory board for two African tech managers. He has been an active member of private equity funds including enforced wind-ups.
