Wairimu Karanja is a Partner at Persistent, Africa's Climate Venture Builder. She is Kenyan, leads Persistent's Nairobi office and manages the corporate, legal, ESG and compliance matters at Persistent. Wairimu also supports entrepreneurs with venture building.
She has 18 years’ legal experience in leading international firms, working on climate, energy, infrastructure, private equity, M&A and corporate law in Africa.

She is a current Council Member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law, and Executive Committee Member of the Kenya Renewable Energy Association (KEREA).

Off-duty, Wairimu is a nature lover, hiker, runner and bookworm. She loves anything with an African print.
