Ascent manages the Ascent Rift Valley Fund I & II (ARVF I & II) with combined commitments in excess of US$ 200 million.

ARVF I & II are Mauritius registered private equity funds focusing on investing in small and medium size businesses (SMEs) in Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Rwanda.

To date ARVF I & II have made 15 investments in leading East African SMEs in health care, manufacturing, distribution, education and financial services and completed four exits.

Given its network of offices in Ethiopia, Uganda and Kenya, Ascent’s approach is hands-on with a preference for majority stakes in companies that are leaders in their respective fields.
