Joanna has over twenty-five years of financial services industry experience and specializes in the regulatory compliance of private equity firms and investment advisors. Joanna is the Head of Compliance in Asia for the Carlyle Group and has been with the firm for over 15 years. In her tenure, she has expanded Carlyle’s regulatory presence in the APAC region from Hong Kong to Singapore, Australia and Japan. She is responsible for overseeing Carlyle’s internal compliance and regulatory programs across the APAC region and advises and provides guidance in structuring of new products, compliance strategy, services, and relationships.

Prior to Carlyle, Joanna was a regulatory advisory lawyer at Baker & McKenzie advising financial institutions, insurance companies and asset management firms on the ever-evolving regulatory landscape in this region. Joanna continues to advance compliance best practices through participation in various regional regulatory committees.
