Sheng Liu has more than two decades of experience in Asian private equity, spanning cross-border investment involving China and Asia, the globalization of Asian companies, market entry into Asia, the institutionalization of founder-led businesses, and capital markets and IPOs.

He spent 13 years at Partners Group, where he built the firm’s Shanghai office and China private equity team, and served multiple positions as Managing Director, Head of China Private Equity and Head of Asia Health and Life Investment. He completed investments and divestments totalling several billion US dollars, from growth capital to buyout and across logistics, consumer, retail, industrial, healthcare and technology, and sat on the boards of multiple portfolio companies including several listed ones — generating billions of capital gain and a DPI of over 3x for his investors through COVID-19, the tariff wars and the most constrained Asian exit environment in a decade.

He began his career at KPMG and Cathay Capital, and holds a finance degree from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
