Patrick Sloan, Managing Director, is the Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East and Africa region for BlackRock and the Senior Executive Officer for the Dubai Office. In his role as MEA COO, Mr Sloan is responsible for the effective operation of the region. This includes partnering with functional management to support growth and client services across channels, to manage risk, to promote operational efficiency, and to respond to market and regulatory change.
Mr Sloan holds a number of governance positions including on the Board of Directors for eFront LLZ and the BlackRock Middle East Infrastructure Fund. He is also a non-executive member of the GIP QFC governing branch body. Mr Sloan also serves on a number of BlackRock governance bodies.
Prior to assuming his current role, Mr Sloan was Head of the Core Portfolio Management team in the EMEA Liability Driven Investment (LDI) business. Patrick led the team responsible for trade construction, implementation and ongoing mandate and risk management of LDI investment solutions across the fixed income risk spectrum. Patrick was a member of the Global LDI Leadership Group, and was responsible for jointly setting the strategy, business objectives and execution plans for the LDI Business. Mr. Sloan joined the firm in 2005, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI).
