Dr. Carolin Funk is a Partner at Blue Bear Capital, a venture capital and early growth equity firm driving the expansion of digital technologies into multibillion-dollar verticals across the energy, infrastructure, and climate industries. Blue Bear's portfolio covers operational AI, IoT, and cybersecurity technologies, all deployed with enterprise customers to drive connectivity and efficiency across the world's most critical industries.

Carolin has spent her career supporting the energy transition across government agencies, large corporations, and early-stage ventures. Prior to joining Blue Bear, Carolin served as COO of two energy storage businesses based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Before that, she worked at Siemens, focusing on digital product innovation for energy and industrial automation businesses. Carolin began her career in Germany as Project Director at the German Energy Agency (dena) and researcher at TU Berlin. Carolin holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from TU Berlin.
