Profile

Karthikeyan is a Partner in Infrastructure Fund (Master Fund), NIIF. He is part of the initial team that set up NIIF and its building blocks on investments, fund raise, policies and establishing key relationships across stakeholders in Govt., partners, financial institutions and service providers. Apart from investments, his other key responsibilities include fund raise and, recruiting and developing talent.

He has professional experience of more than two decades and has covered the entire life cycle of infrastructure PPP business by handling the roles of developer, investment banker, investor and operator through his career, and has significantly contributed to policy and regulatory framework.

He has invested USD 1Bn+ in infrastructure assets and has rich blend of investment, portfolio management and exit, across the transportation sectors viz., Roads, Metro rail and Airports. He has also evaluated investment opportunities in Urban infrastructure and Energy.

Prior to NIIF, he was the Chief Investment Officer of the infrastructure platform of Khazanah (Malaysia) in India with IDFC – Uniquest Infra. Earlier to that, he was Associate Director at KPMG in Investment banking – Infrastructure; and was Assistant General Manager at L&T IDPL (Developmental platform of Larsen & Toubro to invest and develop PPP assets).

Karthikeyan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics from Govt. College of Technology, Coimbatore (India) and an MBA in Finance and Strategy from XLRI School of Business, Jamshedpur (India)
