Catherine Flax is a Founding Member and President, Private Markets of X Machina Capital Strategies (“XMC”), responsible for fund management, investment origination, and portfolio management. Ms. Flax is an energy sector and finance senior executive with over three decades of experience leading both large-scale and early-stage energy and financial services businesses. Prior to XMC, she was the Head of Fixed Income, Commodities, and Currencies for the Americas at BNP Paribas, Global CMO at J.P. Morgan, and CEO of Global Commodities for EMEA at J.P. Morgan. She also held senior leadership roles at UBS and Morgan Stanley. Ms. Flax received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University and a Master’s degree in Economics from Brown University. She currently serves on the Board of the Independent System Operator of New England.
