Shaia Hosseinzadeh is the Founder, and serves as the Chief Investment Officer, of OnyxPoint Global Management where he oversees the Firm’s investment activities.

Mr. Hosseinzadeh has more than two decades of experience across public and private markets with a focus on event-driven investing, distressed credit, private equity and complex litigation. During this time, Mr. Hosseinzadeh has invested in or served on the boards of businesses operating in the energy, chemicals, metals, mining, power, shipping and infrastructure sectors.

Prior to forming OnyxPoint, Mr. Hosseinzadeh served as the Global Head of Commodities and Natural Resources at WL Ross & Co. where he served as the lead Investment Committee member for the firm’s commodity sector investments. During this time, Mr. Hosseinzadeh oversaw and held primary portfolio management responsibility for the firm’s commodity sector investments. Previously, Mr. Hosseinzadeh was employed by Apollo Global Management in New York. Mr. Hosseinzadeh began his career in the Investment Banking Group at Credit Suisse First Boston advising on mergers, acquisitions and leverage finance capital markets.

Mr. Hosseinzadeh is a member of the Energy Security Task Force at the Brookings Institution and the Economic Club of New York. He also serves as a sustaining board member of Youth Inc., a non‐for‐profit venture philanthropy organization focused on education.

Mr. Hosseinzadeh earned an M.Sc. in Economics and Philosophy and a B.Sc. in Economics, both with honors from the London School of Economics & Political Science.
