Dax Atkinson is Chief Investment Officer of Rockport Companies, bringing more than 25 years of experience investing across the capital structure with a focus on oil and gas, energy services, and industrial assets. His background spans private equity, distressed credit, and real assets, with expertise in sourcing, structuring, and managing complex investments. Previously, Dax served as CFO of a family office with energy services holdings, where he led financial strategy and raised third-party capital. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Castlelake LP, where he managed the firm’s oil and gas portfolio and deployed nearly $1 billion. Earlier roles include senior positions at CarVal Investors and Deephaven Capital, and investment banking at Piper Jaffray. Dax holds a B.S. in Finance with Honors from Iowa State University and is a CFA charterholder.
