Phil Miall

Head of Private Debt Australia at QIC

Phil joined QIC in October 2010 and led QIC Liquid Markets Group’s credit team for much of the next decade. In February 2022, he transitioned to the role of the Head of Private Debt Australia, based in Brisbane. Phil is responsible for managing the Private Debt Australia team, overseeing origination, structuring, and asset management of Australian and New Zealand private debt investments. Phil is also a member of the Private Debt Australia investment committee.

With over 29 years of experience across Australian and international financial markets, Phil has a distinct breadth of credit expertise spanning private debt, investment grade and high yield corporate bonds, credit default swaps and structured finance.

Prior to joining QIC, Phil held senior roles at UBS Global Asset Management, Westpac Institutional Bank, BNP Paribas and Fitch Ratings.

Phil holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland.
