Lulu Wang, PhD leads the Research and Strategy function for the Private Markets Solutions team at Aberdeen. Her responsibilities include analysing the key drivers of private markets and applying macroeconomic forecasts, thematic insights, trading signals, and market analysis to inform portfolio strategies. She is responsible for the production of the Private Markets House View and thought-leadership projects, working closely with heads of asset classes and the abrdn Research Institute, providing a strategic and tactical asset allocation on the major asset classes between public and private markets globally. Lulu has been leading a series of engagement with large pension funds, private banks globally on their asset allocation to private markets holistically.
Lulu is a Board member of the Global Private Markets Fund ICAV and an Advisory Board Member at the Centre for Risk Studies, Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. She started her career with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in 1999 and joined Standard Life Investments, now part of Aberdeen Investments in 2014 following the acquisition of Ignis Asset Management, where she managed the strategic function operating across the real estate business. She holds a first class bachelors In Qingdao University China and a postgraduate degree in international banking and finance and a PhD in international real estate portfolio diversification.
