Dr. Keyoung has over 20 years of experience as a physician, investor and a healthcare executive. At CBC Group, Dr. Keyoung is Senior Managing Director and Head of Private Credit and Royalty based in New York City since 2017 when he joined as Head of North America in Private Equity. Dr. Keyoung currently serves on the board of Hugel Inc (Kosdaq: A145020), a leading global aesthetics company. Prior to joining CBC Group, he was President and CEO of Genexine Inc., KOSDAQ listed biotech company where he formed partnerships with Merck, Fosun Pharma and Simcere Pharma. He was Founding Managing Partner of Portola Capital Partners, a healthcare-dedicated investment firm. Dr. Keyoung was previously also President of Catalyst Biosciences (Nasdaq: CBIO) and was Managing Director of US venture capital firm. Throughout his career, he advised leading healthcare companies such as Eli Lilly, Bausch & Lomb, UCB, and Samsung Electronics/ Samsung Biologics. Dr. Keyoung received both his Medical Doctorate and Ph.D. in Neuroscience and Neurology from Cornell University Weill Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as an MSTP full scholarship recipient. He was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research fellow and received his clinical surgical training at the University of California, San Francisco.
