Mohith SondhiManaging Director, Debt Finance at OakNorthPanellist
Profile
Mohith Sondhi is a Managing Director of Debt Finance at OakNorth Bank, having joined in April 2016 from RBS where he’d spent over 15 years. He is an expert in broad Structured and Corporate Finance having gained significant experience in a variety of roles covering main functional areas, including customer relationships, portfolio management, risk management, people management, and strategy development. Having proven his ability to deliver success in a range of challenging business situations, Mo is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing complex transactions, providing a range of short- and long-term funding solutions designed to support growing businesses of all sizes.
Mo has also led OakNorth’s work in Fund Finance & Speciality since 2018, helping the bank to carve a niche in the market through providing optionality for funds seeking lower debt quantums from £1m up to £75m, but from a financier that can offer the full spectrum of products – capital call, GP lines, liquidity lines, and NAV facilities. There is still a very large part of the market which is underserved and underrepresented – especially for smaller loans between £10m-£35m, and GP lines between £3m-£10m. Being led by Mo, OakNorth is helping to fill this gap which has only widened with the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank. Over the last seven years, he has pushed the bank to try new things and be an innovator in this space, including leading OakNorth’s first ever fund buy-out deal, and its first ever subscription facility.
