Patrick Ottersbach

Head of European Direct Lending Investment Team at Macquarie

Patrick joined Macquarie in 2009, working across a variety of asset classes before taking on leadership of the Private Credit team in 2019. He sits on the investment committee for Macquarie’s Direct Lending Funds (Europe and US) and on Macquarie’s European management committee.

Prior to joining Macquarie, Patrick began his career in the Principal Investment Area of Goldman Sachs in London in 2007, covering both senior and junior credit investments. During his time at Macquarie, he has served on the boards of several companies, including Business Keeper AG and Attikon AG.

Patrick holds an MPhil in Economics from Cambridge University and a first‑class BSc in Economics from Warwick University, and he is a CFA charterholder. He is a citizen of both Germany and the United Kingdom.
