Paul Burdell is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of LCM Partners, and the wider LC Financial Holdings Group. Paul is responsible for Group strategy and direction while managing many of LCM’s key client relationships. From 2008 to 2016, alongside his responsibilities at LCM, he served as a senior advisor to the European Central Bank (ECB). In this role he worked together with the Risk Department on the Loan Level Data Initiative which the ECB created to restart the ABS market after the Global Financial Crisis. The second element of the mandate was to create and build the European DataWarehouse which was central to the ECB’s drive for transparency and restoring confidence in the ABS market. Before co-founding the Group in 1998, he helped establish Octagon Group in 1987 which was one of Europe’s first proprietary hedge funds investing in the distressed corporate debt market. Prior to Octagon, Paul held senior roles trading bonds and derivatives for JP Morgan Chase, DLJ, and the United Bank of Kuwait.
