Matt Cunning

Director at Longbow Capital

Matt is a Director at Longbow Capital, where he is responsible for transaction origination, due diligence, structuring, and execution of the firm’s energy transition investments. He has led a number of Longbow’s investments across power generation and electrification and serves as a board director for several portfolio companies.

Before joining Longbow Capital in 2018, Matt held progressively senior roles at Parkland Corporation in Corporate Development and Operations, where he executed multiple acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate growth transactions totaling more than $1.8 billion. Prior to Parkland, Matt was a strategy consultant, advising clients in the energy, infrastructure, and non-profit sectors on a range of strategic and operational initiatives.

Matt is a regular guest speaker at the University of Calgary and sits on the Membership Committee of the Canadian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of British Columbia.
