Sam Warfield leads Pennybacker Critical Infrastructure Partners and brings a deep track record of direct infrastructure investing experience.

Prior to Pennybacker, Sam was Managing Director, Head of U.S. Investments at Arroyo Investors – a leading middle-market private equity firm focused on power and energy infrastructure assets. Before joining Arroyo Sam was a senior corporate associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York, where his focus was on M&A transactions in the power and infrastructure sector. Sam was recognized in 2015 as a “Rising Star” in M&A in the New York metro area by Super Lawyers Magazine. Sam also clerked at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission in the Department of Investment Management in Washington D.C.

Sam received his Bachelor of Science in Finance magna cum laude from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the University of Florida Levin College of Law. Sam is also a member of the University of Florida Hall of Fame.
