Shaia Hosseinzadeh

Shaia Hosseinzadeh oversees the firm’s investment activities across public and private markets. OnyxPoint employs a flexible event-driven strategy, investing in the equity and credit of real asset businesses experiencing structural change, market dislocation, or corporate transformation.

Prior to founding OnyxPoint, Mr. Hosseinzadeh served as Global Head of Commodities and Natural Resources at WL Ross. In that role, he led the firm’s investments in the sector and was a principal member of the Investment Committee, with responsibility for portfolio construction, capital allocation, and risk management.

Previously, Mr. Hosseinzadeh was a member of the investment team at Apollo Global Management in New York. He began his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse First Boston, advising corporate and private equity clients on mergers and acquisitions and leveraged finance transactions.

Mr. Hosseinzadeh is a member of the Energy Security Task Force at the Brookings Institution and the Economic Club of New York. He also serves as a sustaining board member of Youth Inc.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Economics and Philosophy and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, both with honors, from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
