Hamad is the Head of International Investments at Derayah Financial, a leading boutique Saudi asset management firm, where he oversees public and private market investments and allocations. He joined Derayah in 2024.
Before this, Hamad served as Director of Strategic Projects at Maniyar Capital, a London-based global macro hedge fund, from 2022. Prior to his role at Maniyar, he was Head of Research and Project Management at NTree International, where he played a pivotal role in developing an innovative ETC platform for trading physically backed base metal ETCs.
From 2012 to 2019, Hamad was a Senior Portfolio Manager at Universities Superannuation Scheme (USSIM), the UK’s largest pension scheme. There, he managed allocations to hedge funds and fixed-income funds while also establishing the firm’s public market co-investment program.
Earlier in his career, Hamad worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at Saudi National Bank, initially in the Treasury Department in Bahrain and later at its London subsidiary.
Hamad holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester (formerly UMIST), graduating in 1997. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), and Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).
An active member of several professional societies, Hamad has contributed to the CFA Societies of London and Bahrain and served on the board of CAIA London. He has also participated in various working groups with the CFA Society.
