Huda Al Lawati has over 22 years of experience in private equity, operations and investments across emerging markets. She is the Founder & CEO of Aliph Capital, a GCC based alternative asset manager enabling traditional businesses bridge the technology gap through active ownership and digital transformation.

Prior to founding Aliph Capital, she has been Partner at Gateway Partners, Chief Investment Officer at Savola Group, and Partner and Chief Investment Officer for MENA at the Abraaj Group. She started her career with Schlumberger in 2002 after graduating from Brown University. Throughout her career, Huda has led over $2 billion of equity & over $1 billion of debt deals and has experience in growth capital, MBO’s, LBO’s, venture capital, equity markets and structured equity transactions across a broad range of sectors in emerging markets.

She has played leading roles in strategic initiatives, corporate turnarounds, change management, organizational building and investor relations.

Huda is currently a board member at Spinneys, Magrabi, BSF Capital and Abu Qir Fertilizer Company. She also chairs and/or serves on various nomination and remuneration, audit and committee and investment committees. She has previously served on multiple boards and committees across the region including, ADC Acquisition Corporation (the first ADX listed SPAC), Hala (ADGM and CMA regulated fintech company), Tim Hortons, Panda Retail Company, Herfy (Tadawul), AlKhabeer, Savola Foods Company, SMG, The Entertainer, Kudu and Al Ula Development Company (a subsidiary of PIF).

As a keen contributor to the community, Huda has been a member of the board of directors of the Middle East Investor Relations Association and Young Arab Leaders and is currently a member of the Young Presidents Organization, Tumouh, Saudi Women Leaders Network and PEWIN.

Huda holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics (Honors) from Brown University. She has successfully completed the ‘Audit Committees in a New Era of Governance’ program and earned a certificate from Havard Business School Executive Education.
