Usama Cortas is a Partner of Leonard Green & Partners, L.P. (“LGP”), a leading private equity investment firm based in Los Angeles with more than $75 billion of assets under management. Usama joined LGP in 2003 and is a member of the Investment Committee and Operating Committee. He co-leads LGP’s Business Services vertical and focuses on technology within Business Services.
Usama serves on the Board of Directors of several companies including Authentic Brands Group (“ABG”), a leading owner of sports, lifestyle, and entertainment intellectual property. ABG controls the intellectual property of more than 50 brands, including Reebok, Nautica, and David Beckham, among others. Usama was part of the original investment team that backed Jamie Salter to found ABG and has played a meaningful role in the growth of the business and value creation strategy.
Prior to LGP, Usama worked at Morgan Stanley in its investment banking division in New York focused on mergers and acquisitions and retail/consumer products. Usama graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics-Political Science.
