Andy Kaplan is a Senior Director on MetLife Investment Management’s Private Equity Unit, which is responsible for overseeing a $23+ billion portfolio of partnership interests & direct investments managed by 100+ private equity managers spanning buyout, venture capital, growth equity, special situations & distressed, power & energy as well as secondary investments. Andy has been on the U.S. Private Equity team at MIM since 2012 and during that time has allocated over $10+ billion to private equity funds & direct investments. Today, Andy is Sector Head & portfolio manager for MetLife’s global venture capital / grwoth portfolio (a ~$4.0 billion total exposure portfolio with 25+ manager relationships) and is an investment committee member for all primary fund commitments & equity co-investments. With decades of PE / venture investing experience, MetLife has established itself as a major institutional LP in the asset class.

Prior to joining MetLife, Mr. Kaplan worked at CCMP Capital as an Associate on both the Finance and Investor Relations teams. Prior to joining CCMP, Mr. Kaplan was an Analyst in the Human Capital Management division of Goldman Sachs & Co. working in both the Equity Compensation and Employee Special Investment Groups. Mr. Kaplan holds a B.S.in Applied Economics and Management from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University and an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
