Dr. Martin Haemmig is a Global Network Partner at GLORAD ‘Global R&D / Innovation’ (www.glorad.org). He was an Adj. Professor at CeTIM in The Netherlands on venture capital, incubation & hi-tech startups and is a former ‘Senior Advisor on Venture Capital’ for Stanford University - SPRIE. Martin Haemmig was asked to setup the VC community at the World Economic Forum (WEF-Davos) in 2005-2011.
In the past 20 years, he worked with other leading institutions and networks in Europe, United States, China, India, Japan, Singapore and in Israel. They include academia, corporates, VCs, VC/CVC database providers, startup ecosystem builders, national VC associations, and leading conference organizers around the world.
Martin conducted the largest research ever on “The Globalization of Venture Capital” resulting in a 600-page book. He lectured and/or researched at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, INSEAD, UniBW Munich, ETH Zurich, as well as at China’s Peking University, Tsinghua, Renmin, Fudan and JiaoTong University, plus India’s IITs IIMs and ISB over the past 20 years.
Today, Martin Haemmig is an advisor to some global VC firm and works with corporates that go through their ‘Digital Transformation’ phase. In addition, he invested in several deep-tech B2B companies with global missions, typically as first investor.
Martin Haemmig earned his electronics degree in Switzerland, his MBA and doctorate in California and is a graduate from the Board Management School at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In the early days, he worked for 20 years in global high-tech companies around the world and obtained the Swiss National Marketing Champion award in 1994, before returning to academia from 2000 to 2018.
