Brett Brewer is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Crosscut Ventures, one of the original seed-stage venture funds in Los Angeles. Prior to co-founding Crosscut Ventures, Brett was a serial entrepreneur who has built, operated, and sold a number of Internet media companies. He started his career as an early internet pioneer, co-founding Intermix Media in 1997, just two years after graduating from UCLA. Under his leadership, Intermix Media launched several successful businesses, including Myspace,, and Alena. Brett sold Intermix to Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation in 2005 for $680M.

After leaving News Corp, Brett became President of Adknowledge, where he oversaw operations for the online advertising company. During his tenure, Adknowledge grew to over 350 employees across the globe and achieved annual revenues exceeding $300 million. Brett now serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

In addition to his successful career as an entrepreneur and executive, Brett is also an accomplished angel investor and pillar of the SoCal tech community. His passion for investing and mentoring start-ups ultimately led to his co-founding of Crosscut.
