Michael invests directly at the security level and indirectly as an asset allocator in traditional and alternative asset classes for institutions and family offices. He has managed, lead and built investment businesses, including distribution and client relation teams. Previously Michael was Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments at First Republic; he was a Managing Director, member of the Investment Committee and served on the board of directors at APG, a Dutch pension provider; he was Chief Investment Officer at MOV37 and Protege Partners; a portfolio manager and global head of equities at FRM, a multi-strategy investment solutions provider; he was a portfolio manager at Credit Suisse and Soros, the macro fund, foundation and family office; and he started his career as an analyst at Morgan Stanley. Michael is an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Finance at Columbia Business School, where he teaches Institutional Investing, an MBA course that he created.
