Michael Patterson, CFA, CAIA, is an Associate within BlackRock's Private Markets Research (PMR) team. Based in New York, he is responsible for leading the venture capital research agenda, overseeing flagship publications and delivering market insights on venture capital, private markets, and institutional investors. Prior to joining BlackRock, Michael was part of Preqin's Research Insights team in New York, contributing to private markets research and thought leadership. He began his career on Preqin's Australasian institutional investor data team in Sydney, focusing on investor coverage and market intelligence. Michael holds the CFA and CAIA charters and earned a Bachelor of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, including an exchange semester at the University of Hong Kong.
