James heads HMRC Legal Group’s Business and Property Taxes Litigation team, which has conduct for the UK tax authority of most of its leading UK corporation tax, business income, capital gains and stamps taxes litigation. James has worked as a lawyer in HMRC for 16 years in various roles, with a focus on direct tax, tax administration and public law. Before joining HMRC, James worked as a tax lawyer in the City.
