Caroline is the head of employment tax for Albert Goodman. She has 49 year’s experience of providing tax advice, having started her career as an Inspector of Taxes for the then Inland Revenue, where she worked across a number of sectors including tax investigation of small and large businesses alike.

After leaving HMRC, she worked in professional practice and continues to do so. Her experience includes working as an employment tax director for PwC where she provided advice to large recruiters on the complexities of off-payroll working as well as delivering advice and training to their clients. She is a regular speaker at tax conferences, the latest being for a multi -national business supporting the engagement and compliance of free-lancers. She advises clients across diverse sectors including both the private and public sector on complex employment tax matters. She is a recognized authority on off-payroll working (IR35) legislation and provides annual training to UK universities on the complexities of employment status. Additionally, she advises on salary sacrifice arrangements, benefits-in-kind, and compliance strategies. She has a proven track record of delivering pragmatic, risk-managed solutions to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with HMRC requirements and business objectives.
